This Pepper Onion Chicken Fry Recipe is a legacy passed on from my grandfather! Hot, Juicy steaming onion chicken fry served with some chill beer or just on a regular evening dinner with steaming rice and dal. Chicken in all its glory is the only meat which is acceptable to every non-vegetarian. Describing this just made my mouth water and I’m sure to make this today in my kitchen.

The Memory Behind this Pepper Onion Chicken Fry Recipe

I’m sure everyone has grandparents who told them stories about their life and their childhood. No wonder, as kids we thought their life was so adventurous. A trip to India was something me and my siblings would look forward to. From buying dress materials to loads of chocolates, (for people we didn’t know existed!!) yeaaaa… it was the 90’s after all.

Anyway, upon our arrival, my grandpa would come to receive us at the airport and welcome us with hugs. Not to forget the part where we were made to ask blessings from every adult we met (Things catholic parents do, to show we were raised in a god-fearing environment abroad!!) We would travel in an ambassador car with plastic laminated seats and a damp smell, Oh my!! It was a good experience…

On reaching home, my grandma would be waiting at the door with tears in her eyes. The joy of seeing her daughter (my mom!!) and while they embrace each other, me and my siblings would tour the house and look for food, only to find my grandfather’s amazing Chicken fry. It is said that he cooked for some Sheikh in Kuwait in his time. He was and is an amazing Chef 👨‍🍳.

If you ever end up at my grandparents place for a party you’ll find his famous chicken fry recipe. And anyone who eats it swears by it. It’s something very dear to my heart and I am sharing it with you. Make sure to try this and you’ll love it for sure. Don’t forget to make memories on the way.
